Growing environment refers to the conditions of light, humidity, temperature, nutrients, and air to which the plants are exposed. Light can be controlled through timers and light proof rooms, and temperature by ventilation and light intensity. Nutrients for the environment are chosen based upon phases of growth, and air and humidity are linked by adequate ventilation, temperature, and the amount of moisture that is allowed to accumulate in the room. The needs of plants will vary depending upon their type and where they are in their growing cycle, and maximum health and productivity depends upon the gardener's ability to recognize these needs and maintain an optimum environment.
